    Description:

This class is designed to introduce students to the world of art glassblowing via lampworking -- the practice of shaping glass with tools and hand movements.

Students will start with a thorough orientation in set-up and safety when working with torches and hot glass and gain an understanding of the tools and equipment used before starting their work. Students will learn basic design and color choices when creating glass art, followed by an instructor-led demo, and will finish with working hands-on for the rest of the class to make their own art with the instructor's help.

Students will not only take away a new understanding of glass art and the skills involved with making it, but they will also take home one-of-a-kind art they produce themselves.

The class will cover a broad overview of glass in general and intensely focus on specific techniques pertaining to the class.

Description: Forge like a real blacksmith! Come once to try it out and make a small project, or keep coming back to learn more and level up your skills!

Students will learn how to make individual items like basic hooks, leaves, bottle openers, keychains, etc. These are fun classes, and can be a great introduction to forging and blacksmithing.

Our fundamental blacksmithing classes follow a national curriculum and progress through three different levels, ranging from the very basics of blacksmithing to advanced techniques. The focus of these classes is on mastering the fundamentals of blacksmithing. Students will make projects in these classes, but the emphasis is on skill development and technique, as well as the other educational aspects of blacksmithing.

There are three different levels in the curriculum. Level 1 typically takes about 40-50 hours to complete. When Level 1 is complete, the student will have all of the basic skills of forging. From there, most students decide if they want to continue to more advanced skills through the Level 2 and Level 3 course, or jump in to our Journeyman curriculum.

Age:  This class is designed for adults and youth 12+ (Exceptions may be made for younger students -- contact us to learn more).

    Cost: $60.00 + $10 for materials
